The person you want to hire might never apply for your job

Not because they're not interested in moving.

  • They might not see your advert

  • They might see the role but decide it's not quite right for them based on the advert alone

  • They might see that your advert has already attracted a high number of applications and decide not to put themselves forward

That's one reason I believe advertising and headhunting can work well side by side.

You advertise and manage the applications that come in; I search separately for people with the right experience who haven't applied to your advert.

I speak to them first, understand their experience, drivers and what they're looking for, and establish whether the opportunity is genuinely of interest.

This doesn't replace your process. It's simply another route into the market.

With contingent recruitment, there's no upfront cost. You only pay a fee if you hire someone I introduce.

It won't be right for every role. Some roles will attract exactly the people you need through advertising alone.

But when you've advertised and haven't quite found the person you're looking for, there's another question worth asking:

Who haven't you reached?

That's where I can help. I recruit finance and accountancy professionals across London, Surrey and Sussex, from newly qualified through to Finance Director.

If you have a finance role coming up and want to reach beyond the direct applicants, I'd be happy to talk about whether a targeted search could complement what you're already doing.
